Thanks to fellow blogger Big Rab I have been proved right

As a self-confessed misery, I work on the premise that “misery is the thinking man’s happiness”. With misery comes a distinctive humour and a more realistic outlook on life, that actually makes me a more rounded and “real” person than those around me with a painted smile on their faces. I enjoy being grumpy and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Despite being a generally optimistic character I too have bouts of grumpiness. For instance last night before playing a gig I was in the Ashton in Helensburgh. I avoid reality/fuckfactor/I’m a nonentity get me onto tv/etc. but because X factor was on in the pub I could hardly avoid it.
I saw two Irish boys who looked as if their mammy had dressed them up for Haloween as characters from Ghostbusters. These lads it would be fair to say appeared to be two coupons short of a toaster and seemed to have had complicated talent bypass surgery.
I then watched as two middle aged men had an argument about them and realised that half the country was probably glued to this pish and hanging on their every word.
We’re going to hell in a handcart.
