When Chappie came as manager I had a chat with a friend who is an Albion Rovers fan and he gave me an insight into Chappie’s management style.

First one he told me was “get used to players playing out of position”.

Well that has certainly happened, Big Mick was a stalwart at centre back in the run up for the championship win, he is now firmly stuck  as left back,a position he is not comfortable in.

We have arguably the best right back in the division playing in midfield in Geggsy.

Even last season the late Gordon Lennon was continually played at right back now we have the legend that is Chissie who strikes me more as a winger than a defender.

Another thing my mate told me was “certain players will play every week no matter how their form is”

A consistent scorer from midfield has hardly kicked a ball because of a much vaunted player who has failed to produce the goods his reputation promised.

the third thing he said was “dont fall out with him or you will disappear from favour”.

Well Mick and Big Denis upset him and were not in the plans for a few weeks, as for Del Carcary I dont know the story there.

Listening to Jamie Rednapp on TV last night he said in football the biggest threat to defenders is pace, players cant handle it,

Well why are we not playing Del was it something he said?

Who am I though I have no UEFA badges I must be one of those negative fans Mr Chapman keeps talking about

From a fiscal point of view its a good job we had the 2 cup games for some revenue as our last home league game was Halloween.

How do clubs like ours survive with no gate money,what happened to the fans who paid in on the original date,did they get a voucher.

The problem is there wont be many paying customers tomorrow night and we only have 2 more games this year.

Worst possible scenario the weather gets worse and games get postponed again,even one game off would be a nightmare.

The big question is what would you rather have

An all weather pitch or summer football?????

I couldn’t make the game yesterday and I dont like to talk about a game I did not see first hand Findo or some other reader could you please summarize what happened.

It certainly doesn’t seem as if Chappie set out to win from the start.

The sonsteam list is busy these days with the rights and wrongs of making the Morton replay an all ticket match.

The fans are putting across sensible points of view and then there is the official line although this is being done indirectly.

On the surface, going all ticket seems daft for all sorts of reasons though it’s entirely understandable why it’s been done this way given how things are run at D.F.C.

Two Morton fans I know along with their three mates and kiddies can’t make the game now because of the arrangements but you can’t please everyone.

The decision to make sure season ticket holders at D.F.C. get priority is sensible and only right and fair so praise where its due. Well done to all on that one.

But back to the game itself. It’s a chance for Chappie and the lads to throw off the shackles and go for it as the reward is a once in a generation chance to play Celtic at our own ground. Forget the financial malarkey, it’s about the game and nothing else.

This draw throws up all sorts of thoughts if we win.

The (SHS) stadium has a full safety certificate and has better access than most.

Easy to segregate.

Possible Sky TV money.

Easy to police (see segregation)

Plenty of street parking in Castlegreen area.

Plenty much needed revenue.

Alternately, move the game to Celtic Park, Firhill or similar??

Pay another club for rental??

Lose Sky money??

More police and stewarding costs??

Would anyone go??

A very capable and professional display from the lads today and the fans made it like a home game.

I wish it could be the same at S.H.S.

I thought everyone stuck to their task today and closed down Morton all over the park.

Ben and Junior were exceptional today closely followed by the General, but no failures.

I still cant get my head round this idea of bringing every player back at set pieces.

Morton’s two wide men concerned me before the game but I needn’t have worried as our boys pushed them back into areas that they could not harm us.

The highlight of the day for me was Plug fae the bash st kids squealing like a wee lassie when big Junior crunched into him once more.

As a wee aside today I strolled up Sinclair St get in that end only to be told by a steward Ihad to walk round to the Hamilton St end to get in.

I explained to the said steward that I had lung and heart disease and would he be prepared to call for help when I ran out of breath he said I only do as I am told, sorry.

At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor and he readily said it was OK, I wasn’t wearing colours and escorted me all the way up the road and took me in the complimentary gate, thank you to the stewards for their polite and sensible reaction to my problem.

So not only did I get in but it was with the compliments of Morton

After today’s news that Dubai is financially knackered, where might we have been if that other guy had taken over,his name fails me, a pensioner moment?

45  years ago I was lucky enough to be at The Barrowland to see a band, who were competing against the Beatles , Stones, and The Who for recognition, during Britain’s golden era of Rock.

The Kinks were a raw band based on a combination of blues and rock music, who had to wait till later in the 60s for people to realise how good they really were.

Ray Davies and his wee brother Dave were the backbone of the band and Dave especially was the teenage cult hero of the time.

It wasn’t till later everyone realise that in Ray Davies we had unearthed an astounding talent as a singer song-writer.

On Dec 14th he plays the concert hall in Glasgow and I would urge any younger correspondents on here to get a ticket to see a true legend of music.

All I need now is a Neil Young tour date and my year will be made after seeing Crosby, Stills and Nash in August.

They may be Dinosaurs but they are real performers , none of your X-Factor shite here.
